This year’s results reflect the exceptional hard work, resilience and determination shown by students throughout their Post 16 studies, alongside the dedication of staff and the continued support of families. Together, these have contributed to the highest levels of progress from GCSE (Level 2) to A Level and BTEC (Level 3) achieved by the school.

Mr Ferry, Headteacher, commented:

“I am delighted to be able to celebrate the success of our students this morning as they receive their A Level and BTEC grades. They have worked incredibly hard over the last two years and I know there will be many happy students, families and staff celebrating their successes today.

“For those who may be disappointed, please don’t let your results define you. You are so much more than a set of grades. There is always another way and another plan. You may have to take a different route, but you can still get there and achieve numerous successes along the way.

“At St Wilfrid’s, we remain extremely proud of our commitment to the holistic development of all the young people within our community and of the fine young men and women they have become.

“The grades they receive today are, in part, evidence of their hard work, but they define no one. It is the content of their character, their resilience and their readiness to make a positive difference to society that truly makes them stand out as individuals.

“Congratulations to all of our students. We wish them every success as they move into the next phase of their education, training or employment. Whatever grades they have received, I hope they remember that they are not defined by them. Every young person has so much to offer, and we wish them every success and happiness for the future.”

St Wilfrid’s is proud of the achievements of every student and the individual journeys they have taken during their time in the Sixth Form. Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, whether that means progressing to university, further education, training, an apprenticeship or employment.
