A LEVEL RESULTS 2018

St Wilfrid's Celebrate Excellent A Level Results

St Wilfrid’s is thrilled to announce yet another year of excellent results at a time of significant change in the examinations at A level.

Michael Ferry, Headteacher comments, “At St Wilfrid’s we are committed to raising standards across the ability range and, although it is difficult to compare headline results to previous years given that we are in the second year of significant changes to A Levels, this year’s results look to be our second best ever in terms of the progress made by students. These results are testament to the hard work of both students and staff as well as to the continued support from parents and carers.”

Some of our students have already gained apprenticeships since leaving Year 13, with many being successful in gaining university places from September. Although it is early days, we believe that every student who applied for university has been offered a place. We wish them all the very best for the future.

In terms of progress, the stand out performer, achieving over 2 grades more than her expected grades (based on GCSE results) was Yasmine Walters, with Georgia Green coming a close second by achieving just under two grades more. Other students also making significant progress include Alexander Fisher, Hamisha Salim, Keely Middleton, Christopher Spackman, Abbie Bennett, Hubert Buksinski, Hannah Kehoe and James Woodhead, all achieving over one grade more.
