St Wilfrid's Students Auction Staff Promises to
Raise Money for UNICEF

On Friday 14th November St Wilfrid’s Catholic School held an Auction of Promises with a twist.  The event has been organised by students at the school who had asked their teachers for promises that the whole school can bid for in an auction.

 Auction of Promises

On Friday lunchtime the School Hall was packed full of Students and Staff ready to spend their money on promises.  There were a range of promises on offer to bid for from having a Chauffeur Service to and from School to having your English homework done for a week, from having your shoes shined to having a dance class, from having a professional photo taken and developed to having a two hour recording session.

Mr John Tarrant, Head of the Triple R Group and Auctioneer commented “There was a brilliant atmosphere in the Hall and everyone really got into the spirit of the event.  There were several fierce bidding frenzies, in particular, “Dress Mr Shields up in any way for a whole teaching day” which raised £27.50.  We are delighted to that this event has raised £237.94 for UNICEF.”

The Auction has been organised by the school’s “Triple R Group”, (Rights, Respect and Responsibilities) not only as a way to raise money for UNICEF but also to build stronger relationships between students and teachers.
