Students Win Big in End of Year Award Ceremony
It was a suitably hot and sunny day on the last day of term,
Tuesday the 22nd July.
The students and staff were looking forward to a well earned break after a
challenging term, where exams and coursework dominated the minds of most. Before the term ended however, it was
time to celebrate success in the End of Term Student Achievement Awards.
The prizes flowed thick and fast, with students being
nominated by the subject teachers and form tutors for excellence. Certificates were given out for
achievement, dedication, improvement and positive attitudes, with those who
excelled in one or more of these being highlighted and rewarded. A number of students won more than
one certificate, showing that achievement in one area can promote a positive
approach to other subjects. The
cheers and applause from years 7, 8, 9 and 10 for these achievements was in line
with the supportive atmosphere students at St Wilfrid’s happily give their
friends and peers.
Sports day was won by Francis House, who excelled in sporting
events this year to attach their colours to the prestigious House Cup.
Sports
Woman and Sports Man of the Year Cups were given out and the Rounders team were
awarded the Crawley U 15 Rounders League Cup and certificates – a huge
achievement.
Well done to everyone who excelled this year, and have a good
break!
