Congratulations to Augustine House!
It’s been a challenging year for the five houses, Augustine,
Dominic, Catherine, Benedict and Francis.
With everyone working so hard, the order of the winning house changed
several times throughout the term, but it was with a staggering 145,710 House
Points that Augustine surged into the lead to win this year’s prestigious House
Cup. Pupils cheered, clapped and
shook hands in congratulations and commiserations, proving that Augustine could
be modest in triumph and the other houses benevolent in their praise.
Particular praise went to Years 10 & 11 across all houses,
who really stood up to the challenge, working consistently hard to achieve a
considerable number of house points.
In Augustine house, twelve thousand house points were amassed at the special
Celebration Breakfasts, where achievement is recognised and students are
rewarded by the Head. Year 10 gained
one thousand house points through teachers reporting positively back to their
homes and incredibly Year 9 managed nearly as many House Points as Years 7 & 8
put together. It was these
achievements amongst others that ensured Augustine house took the lead and won
the prize.
Unfortunately, it was announced the trip to Chesington World
of Adventures was not available, causing a murmur of disappointment rippled
through the students. This soon
turned to cheers and applause as Mr Ferry, Assistant Head, revealed this year’s
prize to be a trip to Thorpe Park on the 30th June for the winning
house.
The results in full are as follows:
First place
Augustine
145,710
Second Place Dominic
140,305
Third Place

Fourth Place Catherine

Congratulations to the members of all houses, who proved that
with dedication and teamwork great achievements can be made at St Wilfrid’s.
