The Pope's Ambassador Visits St Wilfrid's New School Site
St Wilfrid’s
were honoured to receive a visit from Apostolic
Nuncio, Archbishop Faustino Sainz Munoz, Pope Benedict’s representative in
Great Britain. The Archbishop
arrived on the new school site on Tuesday 20th May at 3.30pm in the
afternoon to see the progress of the building works for the new school and to
toast the success of the new building.
The Archbishop was met by Mr Morris, Headteacher at St Wilfrid’s, along with
some staff and students, the School Governors and Headteachers from the local
Primary feeder schools.
Once on the new site, Mr Morris and the Archbishop toasted the success of the
new school and to the success for the current and future students and staff of
St Wilfrid’s. Mr Morris commented,
“It is such an important occasion for the school and for the Catholic Community
to have the Archbishop come and visit our site and see that we strongly believe
in our commitment to education both
intellectually and spiritually to our young people in
Crawley.”
This visit is part of a three day tour of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arundel and Brighton,
which covers Sussex, Surrey, and Brighton and Hove.
