The Pope's Ambassador Visits St Wilfrid's New School Site

St Wilfrid’s were honoured to receive a visit from Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Faustino Sainz Munoz, Pope Benedict’s representative in Great Britain.  The Archbishop arrived on the new school site on Tuesday 20th May at 3.30pm in the afternoon to see the progress of the building works for the new school and to toast the success of the new building.

The Archbishop was met by Mr Morris, Headteacher at St Wilfrid’s, along with some staff and students, the School Governors and Headteachers from the local Primary feeder schools.

Once on the new site, Mr Morris and the Archbishop toasted the success of the new school and to the success for the current and future students and staff of St Wilfrid’s.  Mr Morris commented, “It is such an important occasion for the school and for the Catholic Community to have the Archbishop come and visit our site and see that we strongly believe in our commitment to education both intellectually and spiritually to our young people in Crawley.”

This visit is part of a three day tour of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arundel and Brighton, which covers Sussex, Surrey, and Brighton and Hove.
